Mayor Randy Roach spoke about Hurricane Rita relief and recovery efforts at our
February meeting.  The members relayed to him how proud we were of the way that our
local government entities worked together to expedite the recovery efforts.  They have
been amazingly cooperative with Federal and State agencies and have been proactive in
the cleanup efforts even before the local areas received funds to do so.

Nationally published author, Ed Oneto, was our March speaker.  He has written several
"Finance Power" books.  Mr. Oneto spoke about financial trends and marketing
ourselves and our companies to an ever changing marketplace.

April speaker, Kim Tugwell of Kelly Services  spoke on the local labor force and current
labor trends.

Esther Brinkley and the Business Professionals of the Triad, North Carolina donated
several Walmart gift cards to our members who had been affected by Hurricane Rita.
The homes of Ricky Foreman, Jackie Boise and Michelle LaFosse were either completely
destroyed or suffered severe damage
(see photos). All three have chosen to forward all
of the gift cards to other local families that lost everything.  This act of kindness by the
Triad membership touched all of us in the Lake Charles, LA association.  It truly shows
the professional and cooperative spirit of Credit Professionals International.
