CPI of Gastonia hosted the North Carolina Spring Board Meeting at the Marriott Executive Park in Charlotte, NC,
March 16-19, 2006.
Saturday started with a Board Meeting. The associations around the state caught us up on what they have
been accomplishing since the year started. Everyone is busy and the education, personal growth and
community outreach shared were great ideas to take back to our locals. This meeting was followed by two
excellent workshops.
Our first workshop on Saturday was on “People, What Would We Do Without Them,” by Reg Alexander,
Professional Speaker from Regal Ventures. Dr. Linda Greer of Gaston College gave our second workshop on:
"BURNOUT - Keeping the Fire Lit".
Tammy Rucker and the Gastonia association hosted the Past President’s luncheon. Mary Isenhour of Cabarrus
was voted in as the new President of the Past Presidents and Cheryl Davis as Secretary for the coming year.
Following the luncheon Judy Lily, NC Vice President hosted a great Walk A Thon.
Our Saturday night banquet was a surprise to our local presidents. State President Darlene had them come up
one at a time and receive a crown and scepter and they were “roasted”. It was great fun and we learned a lot
about these ladies and gentleman.
We closed with a Sunday Breakfast hosted by BP of the Triad. Gail Ottinger gave a great inspirational
message on how we “matter.”
