September, 2005: Anne Hammond, CCBE/MPCE, retired Equifax, spoke on "Credit Laws" with
emphasis on the recent changes to bankruptcy policy. Mary Rangel-Mattox of 1st Choice Credit
Union was installed as a new member. Officers for 2005-2006 were elected. Rhonda McKinney,
Carol Neal, and sponsor Janice Dressler attended the CPI of North Carolina State Conference in
Charlotte, NC. Anne Hammond and Carol Neal attended the CPI of Tennessee State Conference
at Montgomery Bell State Park in Burns, TN.
August, 2005: Wendell Ellington, Equifax Brokerage Compliance Center, spoke on "Why Quality
Models are Important to Your Customers" at the August membership meeting. The association
voted to endorse Joyce Dove for State Office and Michele Rocher for District Office.
July, 2005: Nine members and eight guests enjoyed the annual Summer Social held at Tea
Leaves & Thyme in Woodstock hosted by Maria Billings Schneider. Proceeds benefited the
Credit Education Resources Foundation. Carol Neal and Joyce Dove presented an Identity Theft
seminar to residents and workers at Clairmont Place senior living complex in Decatur.
June, 2005: Five members and two sponsors attended the International Conference in Ann
Arbor, MI, June 8-12, where Carol Neal presided. Atlanta was recognized for outstanding
contributions to the Foundation and for membership increase. The local meeting on June 16
was a planning meeting. Five members attended the Inter-City Credit Council meeting in
Augusta, GA. Michele Rocher presented a workshop on "Finding that Divine Balance".
May, 2005: Rhonda McKinney, MPCE, Equifax, spoke on "Laughter - Medicine for Bad Stress" at
the May meeting honoring Past Presidents. Rhonda McKinney upgraded her certification level to
Master Professional Credit Executive this month.
April, 2005: Mark Moraitakis, Chick-fil-A, spoke on "Franchising" at the membership meeting.
Rhonda McKinney presented a seminar on "Understanding Your Credit File" at Chambrel in
Roswell. Carol Neal presented a seminar on "Identity Theft" at Bethesda Senior Center in
Gwinnett. Members attended District Conferences in Texas and Florida. Amelia Brown earned
her Professional Credit Executive certification and Michele Rocher earned her Master
Professional Credit Executive certification. Carol Neal renewed her MPCE.
March, 2005: Stevee Ashlock, Stoneybrook Productions, spoke on "Life is Beautiful: Live It" at our
Annual Sponsor Appreciation Banquet. Janice Dressler was named Sponsor of the Year, and
Konny Light, Business Quickening, was installed as our newest member. Carol Neal presented
a seminar on Identity Theft at Georgia Tech. Credit Education Month displays were put up at
Georgia Tech and Bethesda Senior Center. Members attended the North Carolina Spring Board
Meeting and the Virginia State/District 12 Conference in Virginia Beach.
February, 2005: Board meeting to discuss plans for Credit Education Month. Linda Otero,
SleepMed Inc., was installed as a new member. Members attended the Inter-City Credit Council
Meeting in Columbia, SC.
January, 2005: Veronica Jones-Johnson, Director for the Consumer Products Division’s
Personal Solutions Team at Equifax, spoke on "Personal Credit Products that Empower and
Enable You" at the meeting on January 20. Tom Newell of Newell Financial Services Group was
installed as a new member.
December, 2004: The annual Winter Social was a luau held at Chambrel in Roswell, GA.
Members and guests contributed clothes and toys to Clayton County Family Services.
November, 2004: CPI of Atlanta members participated in two events in November to raise funds
for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Credit Education Resources
Foundation, and CPI. Four members and one sponsor attended the South Carolina State
Conference in Spartanburg, SC, on November 13. Konny Light, Founder of Business Quickening,
spoke on "Dynamic Presentations" at the regular Atlanta meeting on November 18.
October, 2004: Over forty guests attended a seminar on Identity Theft presented by CPI of Atlanta
at Chambrel at Roswell. Three members attended the International Strategic Planning and
Executive Committee meetings in St. Louis, MO, October 15-17. The Atlanta Installation and
Awards Banquet was held October 22 at the Wellesley Inn & Suites. District President Queen
King installed the new officers: Michele Rocher, SleepMed Inc., President; Rhonda McKinney,
PCE, Equifax, Vice President; Maria-Billings Schneider, CPC, Secretary; Joyce Dove,
CCCE/MPCE, retired SunTrust, Treasurer. The new theme for the year is "Opening the Door to
Opportunity". Michele Rocher was named Credit Professional of the Year and Joyce Dove and
Anne Hammond shared Outstanding Member of the Year honors. CPI of Atlanta hosted the
Georgia Annual Meeting and the Inter-City Credit Council Meeting. Carol Neal presented a
workshop on the "FISH Philosophy".
