"Central Kansas Business Connection"

                      CENTRAL KANSAS BUSINESS CONNECTION
                                           Chartered in 1937

HISTORY - This association was organized by Mary Jones, owner of the Hutchinson
Credit Bureau in 1937.  The first name of the organization was Credit Women's
Breakfast Club.   Since that time, we have had a few name changes but our purpose
remains the same to promote credit education.

CURRENT -- Our new name is "Central Kansas Business Connection" affiliated with
Credit Professionals International.   We chose that name since we have men and
women from Hutchinson and Wichita.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT -  Four members have earned their credit
certification. We also have had three members become Credit Professional of the Year
on the International level and a Past International President of CPI.

NETWORKING -   We meet on the third Thursday of each month at 6:15 PM for a
dinner meeting.   We meet in Hutchinson or Wichita for the meetings, so call
one of the officers listed below to be a part of our networking association.

         Use of
Walk-A-Thon Money

This year Central Kansas
Business Connection
a/k/a THE HUTCH BUNCH
did something a little
different with the funds
they received back from
their Walk-a-Thon
contribution.

Our public television
station, KPTS, has a
program called "Ready
To Lead in Literacy".  Pat
Clough of KPTS has
regenerated a program
called "Parenting
Counts".  This program
had been dormant for
several years.

Pat is going out into the
Wichita community and
giving programs on
budgeting to places
such as transitional
housing in the homeless
shelters, alcohol and
drug abuse recovery
centers and battered
women's shelters.  This
spring they will
complete the initial
phase in Wichita.

This summer they hope
to move the programs
out to the 10 counties in
the KPTS viewing area.
When they come into
the Hutchinson area,
they will be contacting
the Hutch Bunch to see
if we want to work with
them.
