| The CPI Executive Committee encourages all members to participate in USA Weekend's Make A Difference Day on Saturday, October 25, 2008. What is Make A Difference Day? Created by USA Weekend Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of October. It is now the most encompassing national day for helping others - a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Why is Credit Professionals International endorsing this project? This is a win/win situation for us. We can have a positive impact in our communities, and also gain recognition for Credit Professionals International. Each year in April, hundreds of good deeds done on Make A Difference Day are selected for honors, headlines and charitable donations...and 10 national honorees will each win $10,000 from Newman's Own. CPI members already make a difference in their communities...Make A Difference Day is a great opportunity to increase our impact and visibility locally and at the national level. What do I have to do? 1. Decide upon a project. See the USA Weekend Idea Generator or check out these previous project by CPI members in 2006 and 2007 for inspiration. 2. Notify USA Weekend and your local media of your plans by September 1, 2008, to generate publicity and be included on the USA Weekend DAYtaBank of ideas. 3. Complete your project or activity on Saturday, October 25, 2008. 4. Complete your entry form at USA Weekend by November 1, 2008. Send a copy of your entry to the CPI Corporate office so you can be included on the CPI website page. Who can participate? Anyone and everyone. Individual members, associations, direct members and members-at-large, family, friends and other organizations. What happens if we win? You or your group gets to decide what to do with the money. Donate it to the Foundation, or keep it for your local's use or your own....just be sure to mention Credit Professionals International during your interviews! See the USA Weekend website for project and publicity ideas, planning guides, and entry forms. Questions? Contact Carol Neal, Marketing Chairman. top of page CPI Home Page Back to Site Map |
