Career Club
CAREER CLUB POLICY
NAME: Career Club is a prestigious part of Credit Professionals International, which is
a non-profit organization headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.
PURPOSE: Career Club is a socially oriented club, honoring CPI members who have
accumulated twenty-five (25) years of dedicated service to the credit industry thus
displaying an interest and loyalty to their chosen vocation.
MEMBERSHIP: Acceptance into the International organization of Career Club
automatically gives membership into the district, state (if applicable), and local club.
Membership requirement of twenty-five (25) years need not be consecutive. After
acquiring membership, inactivity or retirement need not cancel membership. The CPI
member shall complete an application form for verification and submit it to the CPI
office in St. Louis.
OBJECTIVES: Being worthy of attention, the objectives shall be to give recognition
and to honor those Credit Professionals who have experienced lengthy service in the
credit profession; to provide an example of the value and importance of CPI; to
stimulate attendance at the International and District conferences and to have local
association meetings.
BENEFITS: To be given recognition on and off the job; to gain self-improvement
through active participation; to Meet people in the credit field that are contacted by
phone or letter; and to form friendships.
MEETINGS: An annual meeting shall be held during the International Conference for
the purpose of meeting friends and electing officers. The officers shall be a president
and secretary, nominated during the annual meeting and elected by vote of members
in attendance. If more than one candidate for either office is nominated, vote will be
by secret ballot. In the absence of the president, the secretary shall preside. In the
absence of the secretary, the president will appoint a secretary pro tem. Each
meeting shall be financially self-supporting.
DUES: There shall be no dues for the Career Club organization. CPI has available a
Certificate of Membership and/or certain jewelry item (membership pin, ring, etc.)
which may be purchased for a nominal cost at the members' option.

President Francie Rowe founded the Career Club at the International Conference in
San Francisco in 1954. Francie passed away in November 1996. Catherine Bartlett
was the first president. Nora Arendt served as the first secretary. The first annual
Career Club Meeting was held June 21, 1955, in Louisville, Kentucky.
