8/98 Article from Richard G. Ensman. Jr.                   TIPS FOR CPI MEMBERS

When you support Credit Professionals International, great things happen.  You grow professionally.  You advance the well being of your industry.  And you generate renewed enthusiasm for your own job or
profession.  Here are ways you can do just that:
1.   Display CPI seal, plaque, or decal at your place of business, along with any CPI awards you have
received.
2.    When colleagues make the news, drop them congratulatory notes (if the news is good) or notes of
encouragement (if the news is bad).
3.    Pass along copies of relevant newspaper or periodical articles to other members.
4.    Mention your CPI work in conversations with colleagues or business people outside your industry.
5.    Leave your CPI Magazine or Educational manual in your lobby or waiting area for others to read.

6.    Let other CPI members know about continuing education opportunities available in your field.
7.    Let your CPI leaders know how you have applied the hints you have picked up at conferences and
meetings.
8.     Encourage employees or acquaintances in your field to become members.
9.     Offer to serve as a mentor to a CPI newcomer.
10.   Mention CPI’s needs and principles whenever you speak in front of civic or business groups.
11.   When you’re starting a new project or happen upon a new idea, run it by an out-of-area CPI member
and get some objective advice.
12.   Publicize CPI and industry in the local media through news releases.

13.   Include CPI’s name and logo on stationery products.
14.   Pass CPI news along to your staff and employees.
