to find out if they may be eligible for help under the Obama Administration's new "Making Homes Affordable" programs.

The FTC has set up a special website to help consumers avoid scams related to the current financial crisis: http://www.ftc.gov/MoneyMatters.  CPI members can go there to get the information they need to pass on toconsumers.

Sometimes I think the federal government is a huge bureaucracy that can't get anything done. But then I see stuff like this from the FTC and the FDIC and realize that some parts are really producing some useful information  and assistance.
